Precious Drops of Perspiration:
Container Technique

Search the submissions for instances of one thing being contained by another thing. Keywords could be in, with, inside, full of, etc. Simplify the ideas by following a template of “___________ contains _____________”. For example, if a submission says a classroom full of desks, simplify the idea by writing the classroom contains desks. Look for chains, for example, the classroom contains desks, desks contain students, students contain excitement. Create as many chains as you can. Compose poems using the chains.
Alternately, choose a container and list all of the things contained by this container according to the submissions. Compose a poem using the results.

Container Poems: Text

Untitled

Kyungeun Ha

A foreign place
with foreign people,
learning a foreign language
Passing through the start, which was full of inexplicit fear and shyness
With the warm encouragement and consideration,
there are precious drops of perspiration all along the path.
And now I look back on the footprints that I have left behind
and without me noticing,
The foreign place turned to the place I miss the most
The foreign people became good friends for life
The foreign language grew into another voice of mine
