About Jack

Since 2003, I have dedicated myself to the success of English learners and teachers in training. My love of English teaching has carried me to college classrooms in Vietnam, California, Washington, Indiana, and North Carolina. All along the way I have prioritized the education of my students, as well as my own continued professional development.

In June of 2019, I resigned my associate professorship at Taylor University where I chaired the English Language Teaching department and directed an academic English program, and moved with my family to Durham, North Carolina for my partner to pursue her continuing education at Duke University. Since moving to Durham, I have taught English with Durham Technical Community College and Durham LEAP. I have also founded my own tutoring and editing business: Ao English.
